The University of Edinburgh intends to procure contracts for the planned and reactive maintenance of:
- Booster Pumps, Expansion Vessels, Pressurisation Units and Associated Equipment
- Main Boiler Units and Associated Equipment
The tender will include for the option to bid for one Lot or two Lots, and will reserve the right to award to one supplier for both Lots or two different suppliers, one for each Lot.

The University of Edinburgh wishes to appoint a single contractor to provide planned and reactive maintenance to booster pumps, expansion vessels, pressurisation units and associated equipment, in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and SFG20 Maintenance Task Schedules. The planned maintenance consists of quarterly visits to inspect, service and maintain the assets. The reactive maintenance consists of repairing or replacing broken equipment as and when required. Additionally, the University is looking to carry out a condition based replacement programme during this contract.
This will ensure that the equipment is maintained to the highest standard, reducing unscheduled downtime, improving reliability and reducing energy consumption, running costs and delivering optimum performance from the equipment.

The planned maintenance consists of six-monthly visits to inspect, service and maintain the assets. The reactive maintenance consists of repairing equipment and replacing broken components as and when required.

Previously these contracts have been procured separately, however, the current intention is to procure them simultaneously through different Lots.
The tender will include for the option to bid for one Lot or two Lots, and will reserve the right to award to one supplier for both Lots or two different suppliers, one for each Lot.
Suppliers who may be interested in tendering for either or both lots are encouraged to note interest via Public Contracts Scotland. In addition we would be grateful if you could complete the attached questionnaire and email it to laura.schouten@ed.ac.uk by 17 May 2024.
The intention is to use the Open Procedure to tender the contracts, however this may change depending on the volume of interest this Notice generates.
The University will use Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) to issue the Contract Notice, which will link to Public Contracts Scotland-Tender (PCS-T) for the tender documents and process. The University would recommend you to register on both sites, if not already done.
