Abstract

This is an accredited, bespoke, specialist substance misuse recovery programme. This programme delivers abstinence based interventions aimed at sustainable recovery from addiction. It is a 4-day accredited program designed for individuals who are ambivalent to reduce or stop the use of substances. It educates participants on the effects of drugs on the brain and how cravings work. The course teaches techniques similar to motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help attendees recognise and control cravings, empowering them to manage their thoughts and work towards reducing or abstaining from substances.
