Description of the goods or services required
The Project is to manage an underwater inspection programme in Monmouthshire over a five-year period, from 2025 to 2030 (year commencing). The inspection programme is to include annual inspections of 23No. structures.
For each structure, the Contractor is to make arrangements, carry out the inspection and produce an inspection report.
Inspection Arrangements
All inspection arrangements are to be made as required by the Contractor and are to include, but not limited to:
• Programming.
• Access requirements, as determined by the Contractor. Underwater Inspection dive team, CCTV, confined space etc.
• Risk assessment and method statements.
• Public liaison. Inclusive of letter drops, residential access etc.
• Traffic/pedestrian management.
• Welfare requirements.
Inspections are to be carried out in accordance with ecological requirements. Ecology surveys were completed in 2018 and summaries are included for each structure in the Site Information. As part of the inspection arrangements, the contractor is to ensure that this ecological information is updated as required. Only 1No. ecological update is required per structure to cover the five-year programme. It is noted that structure No. 655 was not included in the 2018 ecological surveys and will need to be completed.
Inspections and reporting
Underwater inspections are to be carried out accordance with CS 450 requirements and are to include a conditional survey of the structures and soundings of the surrounding riverbeds to check for bed scour.
Inspection reports are to be produced in accordance with CS 450 and are to include, but not limited to:
• Structure information.
• Inspection information.
• Inspection findings and defect schedule.
• Photographic records
• Recommendations.
