Abstract

The National Army Museum (NAM) is in the process of redeveloping its facilities at Chelsea, London, to create a museum fit for the future. The scheme involves the creation of a major new central court, in the heart of the existing building, around which the permanent galleries will be arranged over a number of floors. Additionally, the project will include the creation of a new visitor reception, commercial areas, archive facilities and an educational suite. The project also includes the interpretative design and fit out of the permanent gallery spaces created.

The NAM is currently seeking to appoint a Project Manager with cost control expertise to assist us in the delivery of this major capital project. The appointed team will then work with the Client in appointing and managing the integrated design team.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution and completion of the Round Two submission for the HLF Bid. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with HLF requirements for bid submission and government accounting standards paying particular regard to OJEU rules on procurement of services. In the first instance the Project Manager will be appointed to assist in the delivery of the project to RIBA Stage D by 31.10.2013 when the plans will be presented to Heritage Lottery Fund for approval to Round Two. Should the NAM be successful in this application, the project will then be delivered in its entirety - RIBA E to completion - over the period March 2014 to July 2016. It is the intention of the NAM to continue to employ the same project team through to completion.

All question/clarifications on this project are to be submitted via the in-tend website.
