Abstract

BCBC is seeking to appoint a suitable organisation to facilitate and deliver a marketing campaign with an open call for projects seeking support with the intention of selecting one project to take through a full support package. The appointed delivery body will act as project manager to facilitate the provision of energy efficiency and renewable energy support from a wide range of third party providers and will document the project through a range of media channels as it progresses. The aim of this project is to educate communities in rural Bridgend which are off the main gas network through a marketing campaign about energy efficiency, renewable energy and support available to them. The marketing campaign will highlight successful community energy projects and provide a call to action for communities to come forward for support to develop their own community energy project. One community will be chosen and will become an exemplary demonstrator project to show how a small rural community can move to energy self-sufficiency. The project will track the progress of this community, which may be a street, group of homes or a small village, as it embarks on a process of learning, gaining access to all sources of support available, be it advice, guidance or funding, all facilitated by a project manager. The pilot community will be taken through the process of transition to more renewable forms of energy and reduced energy demand and their story will be documented and promoted online in real time. See Tender Documents.
