Description of the goods or services required
1.1 Introduction
This project is part of a redevelopment programme which has received funding through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, the role of which is to support investments in processing/marketing and/or development of agricultural products throughout Wales.
Welsh Government’s RDP funded Food Business Investment Scheme (FBIS) is designed to help primary producers of agricultural products and businesses that do first and/or second stage processing activities in Wales.
Puffin Produce Ltd’s growth has been built on proactive engagement with the major retailers and their ability to secure contracts with Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Waitrose and M&S. In order to maintain supply contracts with these leading retailers, Puffin Produce has been at the forefront of continuous development that includes expansion of its facilities and range to motivate increased sales and product marketability.
1.2 Objectives
Puffin Produce plan investment in further increasing scale, efficiency and infrastructure of their current potato operation. The next stage in development involves the construction of a new production area for expanded and advanced processing lines and front end office area.
Puffin Produce Ltd are inviting contractors to assist in this development.
1.3 Time Scale
The above project is to have an anticipated commencement on site date of 22nd October 2018 and should be completed by 6th November 2018
1.4 Location
The work will be carried out at Puffin Produce’s main processing site at Woodlands, Withybush Industrial Estate, Haverfordwest, SA62 4BS.
1.5 Project activities
This tender publictation is seeking sub-contract work: the supply of all materials, labour, plant and access equipment in relation to the manufacture and installation of STAIRS X 3 – as shown on included drawings 17055 AL (0) 250 Rev C / 17055 AL (0) 251 REV C / 17055 AL (0) 252 REV A
Price to include for galvanised stairs and handrails
1. Stair construction shown as metal pan stairs with 75mm
concrete infill - detail TBC by manufacturer.
2. Fixing details of stair by manufacturer.
3. Some stairs (indicated) require extended treads to meet slabs
due to differences in floor heights.
4. All steelwork indicative and to structural engineer's drawings.
Sub-contractor to satisfy themselves that they have allowed for all necessary access equipment in order to carry out the works including being aware of site conditions that may have an effect on completing the works to schedule as per programme attached.
Note:
• Site Induction Time (15 minutes)
• Onsite WC and mess facilities are available ‘por gratis’
• PPE & Supervision
• Sub-contractor should allow all temporary access associated with the work
• Sub-contractor to allow for task lighting and power for the duration of their works (as required)
• Sub-contractor to allow for material storage within price (as required)

Costs:
Your lowest quotation is invited for the sub-contract work shown above inclusive of all Labour, Plant and Materials, in accordance with the following documents: -

Timescale: It is envisaged that some out of hours works may be required so please indicate extra over rates for out of hours work.

FLUCTUATIONS: Fixed Price
DAYWORK: Please identify your hourly (all-inclusive) rate for all labour (installation) and plant costs, together with %mark-up required to the net costs.
DISCOUNT: Please clearly state within your quotation the main contractor discount being offered
By submitting a quotation it is deemed that you have inspected the drawings and contacted the site to obtain any relevant details. Site Visit is recommended.
Extras will not be paid due to lack of knowledge of the site conditions or form of general construction details.
Contract Conditions:
Liquidated Damages - £2,000 per week or part thereof
Rectification Period - 6 Months
Retention Percentage - 3%
Contractor’s Insurance Cover - £5,000,000
Insurance Liability of Employer - £10,000,000
