Abstract

This work package is the second infrastructure contract package to be let by Homes England for the Northern Arc Project and covers the delivery of approximately 1 100 m of single carriageway road with a corridor width from plot edge to plot edge ranging from 13 m to 19 m and a single span road bridge of 60 m approximate length, over an existing water course (a tributary to the River Adur). The envisaged construction period for the works is 14-16 months.

This second ‘delivery’ section of the principal link road highway for Northern Arc is to the western portion of the site, specifically connecting Jane Murray Way (to the south) via a new roundabout on the A2300 to an agreed coordinated point within the western site area (immediately after a new bridge crossing over a tributary to the River Adur. This second infrastructure work package includes all infrastructure, associated landscape, drainage, utility/utility diversionary works and street lighting works along the highway corridor together with the individual bellmouth connections to future development plots to one/both sides of the new carriageway.
