Explanation:
NHS South Kent Coast CCG as lead commissioner for the East Kent CCGs is awarding a contract as defined by this notice. Its justification for doing so is under Regulation 32(b)(ii) Competition is absent for technical reasons. The basis of this justification is that:
(a) previous PIN process identified only this provider had the capability and capacity to provide services in its locality;
(b) organisational changes to the CCG landscape require short term contracts to be agreed;
(c) the intention is to procure services over the longer term;
(d) the CCGs need to provide services to patients and service disruption would cause negative patient outcomes.

The intention of the CCGs is to enter into a 12 month contract with the providers. Whilst establishing a sustainable procurement strategy to secure long term contracts.
The CCGs will therefore have the option to extend the contract for a further 12 months in the event of contingency.
