Nexus currently has a number of separate contracts for the provision of cleaning requirements for all Metro Stations, Bus Interchanges, Bus Stations, Bus Shelters, office environments such as Nexus House (Organisation Head Office), Nexus Rail (Railway Head Office), Eden Training Centre, Nexus Control Centre, Gosforth Depot, the Shields Ferry and Nexus Track Infrastructure.
To encourage value for money, promote economies of scale and generate efficiencies Nexus have consolidated all cleaning requirements as detailed in Section 4 of this Invitation to Tender and are looking to appoint a single Cleaning Services provider to drive improvements and cost benefits for the years ahead.

The current cleaning arrangements and associated requirements are all managed/resourced separately and have different levels of service quality. The successful tenderer is expected to merge or integrate the requirements of each location and allocate their resources appropriately to in order to raise the overall standard of cleaning output and improve efficiency.
The tender will be for a term of 5 years plus an option (solely at the discretion of Nexus) of a further 2 year extension.
