II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Basis of contract:
The intention of the tender process is to appoint a supplier to deliver the full catering services across the Federation’s estate of 6 schools. The contract will commence on 1.9.2019 and will be for an initial period of 3 years plus an option to extend for 2 further years at the discretion of the Federation’s governing body.
In order to deliver best value, the contract will be awarded on a ‘fully inclusive fixed price meal’ basis rechargeable by the supplier in accordance with the actual number of meals served at each school.
The contract value is estimated to be 2 750 000 GBP (over 3 years).
Objectives:
It is important to the federation that the supplier has significant experience of delivering quality, healthy and sustainable meal services, particularly in primary schools. The supplier should have a strong operational base local to the London Borough of Lambeth and be able to demonstrate an ability to maximise pupil meal uptake through a proven ability of making the lunch service fun, interesting and educational. The federation will expect the supplier to have strong financial controls that will ultimately deliver optimum efficiency and ‘best value’ to each school.
