Abstract

The scope of the contract is the design, manufacture, supply, delivery, and commissioning of a hemispherical electron energy analyser which will be fitted to the high-throughput XPS UHV system at the DLS beamline B07 Branch B. The analyser forms part of the system which will be used to perform XPS and NEXAFS measurements under vacuum conditions with automated sample exchange and positioning between a series of vacuum chambers to permit loading and subsequent measurement of multiple (up to 20 5 x 5 mm2) samples at one time.

The analyser will be procured under a contract subject to this performance specification. The system is defined as:

1) UHV hemispherical electron energy analyser (HEA);

2) Suitable detector for the above HEA;

3) All required power supplies for the operation of the HEA;

4) Software and EPICS-compatible drivers for the HEA electronics;

5) Commissioning of the HEA at DLS;

6) Sufficient spare parts with long delivery times to guarantee operation of the system with minimum down-time for a period of at least 2 years from the date of final acceptance.
