VI.3) Additional information
Network Rail uses a range of personal protective equipment (PPE) for its track workers or any other personnel required to attend infrastructure sites. There are approximately 30 000 Network Rail employees that work on or near the lineside who require PPE for their roles.
PPE at Network Rail includes but is not limited to workwear (High vis. orange), footwear, and ancillary items such as gloves and hard hats. We also have a requirement for more niche products such as chainsaw and vegetation management PPE, look out kits and ear protection.
In order to ensure the durability and effectiveness of our PPE we also need a reliable PPE laundry service provider.
Everyone home safe every day is Network Rail’s safety vision and the provision of high-quality PPE products and services supports this vision.
In an ever-changing environment our supplier(s) need to be able to move with the organisation in a complex environment. We are looking for a strategic supplier(s) that we can class as partners to work with us through challenges that are given to us by our customers. We are not looking for a lift and shift of the current contracts — we want to transform our PPE offering and provide a customer focused, responsive and innovative service. It must be able to flex with our organisation as it grows and expands and as the business demand changes.
If you are interested in helping Network Rail develop the strategy for this tender, please email PIN.Response@networkrail.co.uk with your contact details by the 17 August 2020. We will then send you additional information, a questionnaire and keep you informed as the strategy progresses.
