1) Provide suitable prostheses for all people who have lost or are born without an upper or lower limb or part of a limb by participating in the multi-disciplinary assessment of the patient in terms of:
• the patient’s potential to wear and make effective use of a limb prosthesis
• the patient’s rehabilitation and/or life goals
• any constraints which may prevent satisfactory use of a prosthesis.
2) Assess, prepare, assemble, fit and complete the prosthesis or the repair of the prosthesis in a responsive, rapid and effective manner. The type of prostheses may be cosmetic, mechanical or externally powered.
