II.1.4) Short description
In support of NTS transportation activities, our technical team is responsible for the design and substantiation of new transport packages and the re-substantiation of existing transport packages for other uses. These activities include preparing criticality assessments which form part of the package transport safety case submissions to the relevant regulator. Due to increasing demand, we will require support from the supply chain.
The supply chain will be required to have a thorough understanding of sections of IAEA Transport Regulations SSR-6 pertinent to criticality.
The criticality assessment services are currently split into 5 elements, criticality analysis, preparation of criticality assessments, QA check of criticality assessments, review of criticality assessments and peer review of criticality assessments.

We want to canvass the opinion and understanding of the market to ensure that we offer an opportunity that is of interest and one that you feel you could bid for in the near future.
This engagement is to test our own assumptions and understanding to determine the supply markets capability and enable us to determine the appropriate sourcing solution.
The solution maybe to create a framework for criticality assessment services to support NTS design and licensing activities for packages containing radioactive fissile materials.
