Abstract
The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who are seeking an Optometric Architect Consultant for National Eye Care Digitisation Programme.
The Consultant Optometric Architect will be required to provide 2 sessions every week and their base will be Woodlands House, Maes y Coed Road, Heath Cardiff CF14 4TT.
The Consultant will be;
- A key member of the National Eye Care Digitisation Programme, and will be responsible for delivering and supporting the Welsh Optometry Practices in the delivery of “shared care” into NHS Wales.
- able to provide clinical leadership in the architectural design and development of the OpenEyes Electronic Patient Record and the Electronic Referral Portal to deliver shared care between Primary care and the acute sector.
- able to provide support to the seven Health Board Optometry Advisors and Regional Boards in the connectivity of Optometry Practices into NHS Wales.
- able to develop robust working relationships between primary care optometry and secondary care ophthalmology services to facilitate the shift of services and development of a sustainable balanced eye care service in Cardiff and Vale

1. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to award the contract in whole, in part or annul the tendering process and not award any contract.
2. Bidders should note that they will be required to enter into terms and conditions of contract as set out in the ITT and that save for matters of clarification or consistency the Contracting Authority will not negotiate the terms.
3. The Contracting Authority will not accept completed ITT's after the stated closing date.
4. All documents to be priced (where applicable) in sterling and all payments made in sterling.
