Abstract

The purpose of this Invitation to Apply (ITA) is to provide Applicants with sufficient information to enable them to compile a comprehensive Application that meets the requirements of the Procurement to establish a framework for the provision of a Vehicle Hire Service (for the purpose of driver training) (“the Service”). The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) is one of fourteen ambulance services in the UK. We provide paramedic emergency ambulance services (PES), patient transport services (PTS), emergency contact centre and 111 services to diverse communities covering the whole of the North West of England. NWAS handles around 800,000 emergency calls and 3 million patient journeys per year. This comprises 17% of national activity for ambulance service trusts. Within this total activity, NWAS provide over 2 million patient transport journeys for patients travelling to hospitals and healthcare centres for treatment. The purpose of this procurement is to establish a framework agreement (“Framework Agreement”) for the provision of an Ambulance Vehicle Hire Service (for the purpose of driver training). It is anticipated that the Authority will appoint all organisations as ‘Framework Providers’ who shall be eligible to receive orders from the named Authorities for the term of the Framework.
