Abstract

Worcestershire Children First (WCF) completed a Nursery Assessment Unit (NAU) Review in November 2022. The review identified a need to consider the sufficiency of places, where children with complex needs, could access their full Nursery Education Funding (NEF) entitlement. The outcome of the review can be found on our website. WCF has used the findings to support the development of an Enhanced Early Years Provision (EEYP).The EEYP will provide an important function for children with complex Special Education Needs (SEN) within the county. The intention is to deliver:• Enhanced provision for children whose identified complex needs make it difficult to attend early year provision(s). • Early Help Services for parent/carers of attending children. • An enhanced provision to enable children and families to access their NEF entitlement.
