The aims of the NHS Health Checks service are to:
• Reduce the risk of CVD in the eligible population
• Reduce health inequalities
• Increase awareness of the risks relating to lifestyle surrounding cardiovascular disease
• Support individuals to manage their risk by appropriate medication, lifestyle advice, signposting/referral, follow-up and intervention
• Increase uptake of behaviour change programmes to improve health outcomes in the local population
• Communicate this risk in a way that the individual understands
