Abstract

The requirement of this procurement is to source a suitable supplier of an automated tissue dissociation instrument with integrated heating capability to enable standardised processing of a wide range of biological tissue samples, including human and animal tissues, for downstream cellular and molecular analyses. The equipment will support research activities within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science, housed at the Singleton Campus, with shared access for multiple research groups across disciplines such as immunology, reproductive health, oncology, regenerative medicine, and neuroscience. The successful supplier must be able to deliver and install their equipment within a shared-access laboratory in the ILS1 building on the University’s Singleton Park Campus (map and full address provided in tender pack). External funding has been granted from the Higher Education Research Council (HERC) for a fixed maximum budget of GBP 39,722.96 excluding VAT (VAT exempt due to the medical research usage of the equipment) which includes all delivery and service contract costs. This investment aligns with institutional priorities to improve research infrastructure, facilitate high-quality, reproducible data generation, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. The HERC funding stipulates a delivery deadline of 31st March 2026, so we would like to achieve delivery with appropriate training and SOPs provided to all users, as soon as is practically possible.
