Description of the goods or services required
Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking experienced youth facilitators to support the development of youth led activities across ten of the County’s rural market towns as part of an initiative supported by the County’s Ten towns programme.
The Ten Towns programme is a targeted programme of initiatives that aim to support the regeneration of Carmarthenshire rural market towns. The focus of the programme to date has been on business grants and public realm enhancements.
Since the inception of the programme, the lack of youth activity within each town alongside the underutilisation of community assets has been a common challenge that has been raised by town stakeholders.
The aim of this commission is to bring young people who have a connection to each of the rural market towns together, to co-develop new activities with other community organisations predominantly community assets.
A small amount of funding will be made available to each area to realise their projects which will be administered by Carmarthenshire County Council which falls outside the scope of this commission.
This contract is funded from the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
This Contract shall be awarded for an initial period of seven (7) months, ending 31 March 2026, for an estimated contract value of £30,000, funded through external sources.
Subject to the Council’s sole discretion, availability of suitable funding, and satisfactory performance by the Contractor, the Council may exercise an option to extend the contract for an additional period of up to seven (7) months, until 31 March 2027.
