Abstract

Leicestershire County Council and Rutland County Council (the Council's) are seeking a provider to design, develop and deliver a training programme for professionals on gambling related harm, and to produce a standalone educational resource pack to support the delivery of sessions on gambling related harm to children & young people, aged 11 to 19. The training programme will include three offers: • Basic awareness raising and knowledge around gambling related harms training for professionals working with children and young people (CYP) • Basic awareness raising and knowledge around gambling related harms training for professionals working with adults • A train the trainer offer for professionals who work with CYP or adults to equip them with the knowledge and ability to train others, and a train the trainer networkThe training will be tailored to the Council's and increase professionals' knowledge and awareness of gambling related harm. Those attending the training will gain confidence and skills in identifying and responding to the risks and signs of gambling related harm using stigma free language. They will also be provided with training documentation, advice and support, during and following the training.? The train the trainer offer will equip attendees with the knowledge, ability and confidence to train other professionals, and provide sustainability for the delivery of the training programme within Leicestershire and Rutland. The Provider is also asked to build in regular contact and support for the trainers with the provision of a 'train the trainer network'.The educational resource pack will be tailored to the Council's and increase knowledge and awareness of gambling related harm for young people through the wider education system. The pack will be used by different professionals in a range of settings, including teachers and teaching staff, health professionals, local authority and youth workers and higher education staff. The resource pack will include session plans, recorded resources, slides, discussion points, activities and signposts to use in assemblies and pop-up events for example. All elements of the training programme should address the impact of stigma in relation to gambling and gambling related harm, use stigma free language and in the case of the train the trainer offer provide the ability for attendees to train others using stigma free language. The Provider should also consider the impact of trauma in relation to gambling related harm and take a trauma informed approach in all elements of the training programme (including design and delivery), and production of the educational resource pack. The Council's are seeking a single provider deliver the above training. The provider is expected to develop and deliver an educational resource pack as part of the design phase within the first 5 months of the contract (03/11/25 - 31/03/26). The delivery of training will commence on 01/04/26 - 31/03/28 (over a period of 2 years).The total estimated contract value of this service is £186,250 excluding VAT.
