Total quantity or scope of tender

Our pool is a free-form leisure pool of 500,000ltrs, incorporating flume rides and a wave machine.

The pool water circulation and filtration system comprises two medium-rate sand filters, each serving approx. 50% of the pool water, and each 'system' incorporates its own circulation pumps, strainers, Siemens Touch dosing system controlling Chlorination (calcium hypochlorite) and ph (carbon dioxide).

We require two suitably specified UV treatment systems to be installed/integrated into the existing plant.

It is for this scheme that we invite you to tender.

Key requirements

a) Safety.

The safety of the contractors carrying out the work, plus that of the staff and customers using the centre whilst works are ongoing, is paramount. The successful contractor must be able to provide a method statement / scheme of work satisfying all relevant Health and Safety requirements.

b) Business.

Maintaining current attendance and income levels is vitally important to the Trust. The successful contractor must demonstrate sensitivity to this and provide a scheme of work /method statement to illustrate minimal impact on day to day operation. Where included, appropriate relevant guarantees relating to area/facility down-time and any potential overrun will form a significant part of our evaluation.

The Centre is open from 8am until 9.30pm weekdays, and 9am until 5pm at weekends, with additional opening to cater for events. The timetable of activities in each area of the building varies considerably from weekday to weekend and from term-time to holiday periods. Work will need to be programmed and carried out in and around our timetables to avoid as much disruption to our operation as possible. There is opportunity to work outside of these opening hours and if needed, this must be indicated within your tender.

c) Cost.

This work is to be funded via an external grant application (secured).

The Splash Community Trust intends to use this grant as efficiently as possible and in addition, the Trust needs to satisfy the funding organization of the appropriate use of those funds. Which can only be spent on project works, and not on development.

A stipulation of the funder is that monies can only be allocated to the capital project, not on project development... to this end, any initial investigative work needed to produce a specification/design, is the responsibility of the contractor tendering.

Whist cost is not the only driver within this tender process it will form a significant part of our evaluation. To that end, overall competitiveness and clarity of the quotation will betaken into account.

The following information is required to form your application. All applicants will be scored on the following:

a) Please provide general information on your business including the following:
