North Wales Wildlife Trust is seeking quotations for the management of invasive non-native Cotoneaster species at CR ITQ Moel Hiraddug Management's Moel Hiraddug Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Denbighshire. The contract covers approximately 4.7 hectares of limestone grassland and cliff habitat. Works include survey, vegetation management, foliar herbicide application, weed wiping, stump treatment, removal of arisings and implementation of biosecurity measures. Contractors must demonstrate experience in invasive species management, hold appropriate herbicide qualifications and be able to work safely on steep terrain. Management of invasive non-native Cotoneaster species across approximately 4.7 hectares at Moel Hiraddug SSSI, Denbighshire. Works include survey and identification of target species, foliar herbicide application, weed wiping, stump treatment, removal and disposal of arisings, implementation of biosecurity measures, and protection of sensitive limestone grassland habitats and associated species. Contractors must hold appropriate herbicide qualifications and demonstrate experience in invasive species management. All works to be completed by 30 October 2026.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Bidders must demonstrate experience of invasive non-native species management and habitat management works of a similar nature and scale.

The successful contractor must:

Hold appropriate herbicide application qualifications (PA1 and PA6 or equivalent).

Hold Employers' Liability and Public Liability Insurance with a minimum cover of £5 million.

Provide appropriate risk assessments and method statements.

Demonstrate competence in working safely on steep and rocky terrain.

Comply with all relevant health and safety and biosecurity requirements.

Be able to complete all works and submit invoices by 30 October 2026.
