Abstract

The appointed provider will supply suitably qualified and experienced assessors to complete the prescribed DoLS assessments, including Best Interests, Mental Capacity and Mental Health assessments. Assessments must be undertaken in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Welsh Government regulations and DoLS statutory guidance, ensuring that all legal requirements, consultation duties and reporting standards are met. Assessments will be commissioned on an individual basis by the PTHB DoLS Administration Team and must normally be completed and returned within five working days of instruction. Services will primarily be delivered through in-person assessments across hospitals within Powys and, where required, neighbouring NHS Trusts for which PTHB acts as the Supervisory Body. The appointed provider will supply suitably qualified and experienced assessors to complete the prescribed DoLS assessments, including Best Interests, Mental Capacity and Mental Health assessments, together with the associated statutory documentation (Forms 3, 3a and 4). Assessments must be undertaken in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Welsh Government regulations and DoLS statutory guidance, ensuring that all legal requirements, consultation duties and reporting standards are met.

Assessments will be commissioned on an individual basis by the PTHB DoLS Administration Team and must normally be completed and returned within five working days of instruction. Services will primarily be delivered through in-person assessments across hospitals within Powys and, where required, neighbouring NHS Trusts for which PTHB acts as the Supervisory Body.

The provider will be responsible for allocating work to appropriately qualified assessors, maintaining evidence of professional registration, Section 12 approval (where applicable), BIA qualification and mandatory legal updates, ensuring compliance with GDPR.
