Sockett Properties Ltd is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Main Contractor to undertake refurbishment works at Brecon Market Hall, a Grade II listed building.
The objective of the project is to improve the safety, appearance and accessibility of the building.
The scope of works is expected to include, but is not limited to:
Internal refurbishment and redecoration of the market hall using materials and finishes appropriate to the historic fabric of the building.
Refurbishment of the internal arcade, including treatment of the existing flooring (subject to agreement and any Listed Building Consent requirements).
Replacement of modern lighting with fixtures that are in keeping with the character of the building.
Upgrading and rationalisation of the electrical infrastructure, making use of existing wiring routes wherever possible.
Improvements to the main entrance and arrival area to create a more welcoming and accessible environment.
Upgrade existing toilet facilities to meet current standards, including associated plumbing, electrical and finishing works.
Provision and installation of appropriate pigeon-proofing measures.
The successful contractor will be expected to have experience working on listed or heritage buildings and to carry out all works in accordance with relevant conservation guidance.
The contractor will be responsible for coordinating the works, supplying all labour, plant, equipment and materials necessary to complete the project to a high standard within the agreed programme.
