Abstract

Works contract for the construction of the School of Health Sciences. The Works comprise the construction of the Health Sciences buildings at Liverpool Hope University, Hope Park Liverpool. L16 9JD. The proposed buildings comprise.

1. Science Block — demolition of an existing teaching block and construction of a new 2 storey science teaching block with a Gross Internal Floor Area of approximately 2 900 square metres. The building is to comprise:

— Laboratories and classrooms,

— Specialist sports assessment rooms,

— Reception area,

— Administration, stores and wc facilities.

2. External Works the Works will include all site works, drainage and incoming services. The site works comprise:

— Pavings to pedestrian areas,

— Extension to the existing car park including new lighting and drainage to the entire car park,

— Water features,

— Soft landscaping.

The University may separately procure some furniture and fittings which will be installed during the works. The University may require access for artists and tradesmen to various areas of the building. This will be described in detail in the tender information.

The project is to be designed by the Clients appointed design team. The form of contract will be the JCT Standard Building Contract with Quantities (2011) with amendments.
