Explanation
This purchase represents a like for like replacement (form, fit, function) of the existing capability to maintain business continuity. A change to the type of EPD used on Sellafield site would require a change to all of the site's software arrangements in order to ensure compatibility with the new EPD model. Given the reasons above combined with maintenance and operations experience, the chosen instrument was selected.
