Abstract

NRW requires a solution for the management and sharing of data pertaining to Protected Sites. Protected Sites include Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs), National Nature Reserves (NNRs), Special Areas of Conservation (SACs), RAMSAR sites etc. Management of these sites involves all aspects of feature definition, subdivision of sites (Unitisation) and the assignment of actions. The purpose of the requirement is for Natural Resources Wales to be able to migrate data from an unsupported legacy system into a new solution with modern architecture and ongoing support to ensure continued security of data resulting in reduced organisational risk.
