Improvement Works at Llantwit Major Community Centre

Description of the goods or services required

GVS is looking to procure a suitable contractor to undertake building improvement works at Llantwit Major Community Centre. The works will be undertaken in two phases and there will be separate contracts for each phase because the commencement date of Phase 2 will be determined by the availability of funding.

The works in Phase 1 will involve :-

Improvements to the front façade including timber cladding, replacement windows, main entrance doors, new entrance paving, signage and drainage works.

Remodelling of the main hall involving removal of the suspended ceilings, redecoration of steel trusses, walls, replacement doors, new vinyl floors.

Refurbishment of the main corridor involving thermal upgrade to ceilings, dry lining to walls, replacement fire doors, vinyl floors.

Mechanical and Electrical Works will include new fire alarm, new lighting to the main hall and corridor, access controls and improvements to the water systems.

The works in Phase 2 will involve :-

Concrete repairs to roofs

General refurbishment of meeting rooms, offices and toilets including the accessible toilet, replacement vinyl floors, carpets, partial redecorations,

Mechanical and Electrical Works include, replacement light fittings, improved ventilation for toilets, temperature controls for radiators and a new water heater.
