4.1.3 Lot 3 — Supported Tenancies and Floating Support
Reading currently commissions very few supported tenancies for young people however we expect that under new arrangements we may have up to 10 at any one time. BFfC requires providers who can provide supported tenancies, and also tenancy only options. This will require providers to both source a suitable tenancy for the young person and to provide the required support for them to thrive. Where young people are under the age of 18 the provider will be expected to hold the tenancy on behalf of the young person or will agree with the landlord to grant a licence to the young person giving permission to stay in the property.
The standard support requirement will be 5 hours each week. Anything above this must be agreed in advance with BFfC, be flexible and targeted, based on the young person’s needs.
This lot also includes the requirement to be able to provide floating support to young people living in their own tenancy at an agreed hourly rate.

4.1.4 Lot 4 – Supported Lodgings
Reading does not currently often utilise supported lodgings for young people leaving care, however we recognise that this has the potential to be an excellent option for many of our young people. Consequently we are seeking an organisation that can recruit and train suitable hosts and manage the service.
We are especially keen to work with an organisation who will secure hosts that are of a similar age to our young people leaving care, although this is not a specific requirement of the tender.
The standard support requirement will be 2 hours each week. Anything above this must be agreed in advance with BFfC, be flexible and targeted, based on the young person’s needs.
