Description of the goods or services required

This procurement relates to the provision of a collection, treatment and environmentally sound disposal of WEEE and non-automotive batteries from Designated Collection Facilities (DCFs) on behalf of the CLAIRE Wales Group of Local Authorities comprising of:-

Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, Caerphilly County Borough Council, Cardiff City Council, Carmarthenshire County Council , Ceredigion County Council, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, Newport City Council, Powys County Council and Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The Tender is broken down into 3 Lots:-

Service Lot 1 – WEEE (ITT_84409)

WEEE includes the 5 main categories, plus photovoltaic panels;

A - Large household appliances

B - Cooling equipment

C – Display equipment i.e. CRT, LCD and plasma displays (including TVs and monitors)

D – Lamps (excluding filament light bulbs)

E – All other WEEE

Service Lot 2 – Non-automotive Batteries (ITT_84413)

In addition to the above WEEE categories, bidders that are able to provide the transportation, recycling and disposal of non-automotive batteries are welcomed.

Service Lot 3 – WEEE & Non-automotive Batteries (ITT_84414)

Lot 3 is a combination of Lots 1 & 2 and should be selected where the bidder is intending to provide all client requirements

This Procurement exercise is being run by the Authority's e-tendering portal Bravo Solutions https://etenderwales.bravosolution.co.uk.

Tenderers must submit responses to one, more or all Lots.

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the Authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations.
