An options appraisal has been completed and approved at Programme Board. Detailed design is underway. The preferred way forward for the construction of a new three storey building with supporting therapies facilities (physiotherapy/occupational therapy), is for the new rehabilitation unit to be constructed in a single phase on the site of the Western Community Hospital. The location is an area that is large enough to accommodate all the new facilities in a purpose-built structure and enables construction to take place without disrupting services in the existing hospital.
