Under the current arrangements Highways England stores salt at Ellesmere Port and Garston, North Killingholme, Ridham and Sharpness. In the event of a prolonged and severe winter this salt would be made available to Local Highway Authorities.
The subject of this procurement is the storage arrangements, stockpile management and sheeting supply/maintenance, within the North West, North East and South of England
