Provision of Re-roofing, Cladding and Window Replacement Works at 6-23 Cwm-Y-Nant, Cwmbran

Description of the goods or services required

This project consists of the removal and replacement of the flat roof coverings, concrete hanging tiles and windows at 6-23 Cwm-Y-Nant, Cwmbran.

The building is designated as a retirement housing scheme and consists of 18 flats and is of a traditional brick and block type construction with flat roofs. The residents of all the properties consist solely of Bron Afon tenants.

Contractors bidding for this work must be able to commence work on site in February 2021 and be completed and invoiced by the end of April 2021. A period of 12 weeks has been allocated to deliver this project.

The tender will be awarded to the Most Economically Advantageous Tender.

The contract will be undertaken using the JCT Minor Work Building Contract 2016 including Bron Afon’s standard prelims and amendments.

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:

Bron Afon is committed to contributing to the social, economic and environmental well-being of the wider community. Consequently Community Benefits clauses will be a mandatory contract clause. Therefore, as a minimum requirement, Tenderers will have to agree that community benefits will become part of the contract and as such, a minimum 1% cash donation will be required.

The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
