Llangollen Town Council is seeking a Service Provider to manage, operate, promote and maintain the Bws Benthyg Borrow Bus, Library of things.

The Library of things will be a place where you can borrow useful Things like drills, gazebos and carpet cleaners at affordable prices and learn how to use them. In contrast to other similar concepts nationally our library will be housed in a branded, eye-catching electric van transporting items between towns and villages according to a regular, publicised schedule that will enable residents to borrow items easily and/or get help fixing things. Many items will be donated by local residents who realise they no longer need them. Some high-demand items will be purchased as part of scheme set-up to ensure their durability.

Other project partners include are Mold and Ruthin Town Council and a number of community groups including but not limited to, Llangollen Friends of the Earth, Friends of Pengwern, Plastic Free Mold, Repair Café Mold, Ruthin Library of Things and Ruthin Friends of the Earth.

The project will be delivered between 2021 to 2024 with all project activity finalised by 31st January 2024. At the end of Year 2, Llangollen Town Council will undertake a review of the project and will make a decision on if/how the project will continue beyond this date.

Minimum standards and qualification required

The service provider must also demonstrate if they have experience working with community reuse projects. If the Project Lead does not have immediate access to expertise relating to community reuse projects expertise, they must demonstrate how they have access to this knowledge during the set-up phase.
