UK Shared Business Services Ltd (UK SBS) on behalf of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), wishes to establish a contract for the supply of a Large Capacity CNC Milling Machine as per the specification detailed in the request for proposal.
UK SBS is managing this procurement process in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as may be amended from time to time) (the ‘Regulations’).
This is a supplies and services contract being procured under the open OJEU procedure Regulations.
This RFP sets out details of the contract and expectations of any successful supplier.
This contract will be awarded to a sole supplier.
The estimated start date of the contract is 1 December 2020 and the contract end date is 26 March 2021.
UKRI-STFC have a requirement for the supply and install of a Large capacity CNC Milling Machine that will be delivered and installed at the at the Rutherton Appleton Laboratory located in Harwell.
Aims of the requirement
ISIS Instrument Operations has the requirement for an upgrade to the machining and modification of large components such as shielding. This will be essential in the success of our involvement in the ESS project and the delivery of Endeavour projects at ISIS.
The machine will produce detailed high tolerance features manufactured in materials to include stainless steel, aluminium alloy, copper, plastics and steel.
The machine must have the capacity to perform both horizontal and vertical milling operations using an automatic universal head.
This will provide the workshop with the capacity to machine large items without the need for 2 different types of machines or the need to change the milling head manually.
This contract will be awarded based on the evaluation criteria set out in the RFP document.
