As part of an updated security strategy, NHSGGC installed a future-proof solution for their Staff Attack systems. King Communications & Security Ltd provided an integrated Guardian Staff Safety System across a number of Hospital campus’ including Leverndale and Dykebar which utilised existing network infrastructures. Consequently, the staff safety/attack alarm system is a service which is already in place and is a closed protocol system. To change this system would cause a significant amount of disruption to NHSGGC Staff and Patients. Therefore the best course of action to ensure compliance with procurement regulations, and ensure the continued maintenance of these systems, would be publishing a voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice on PCS.

As part of an updated security strategy, NHSGGC installed a future-proof solution for their Staff Attack systems. NHSGG&C developed an advanced security system that would improve cross-site accessibility and provide a safer working environment for staff members. Offering a greater degree of reassurance for employees working late hours was of primary importance to the project, however, devices were to remain discreet for the comfort of patients within the mental health facility. King Communications & Security Ltd provided an integrated Guardian Staff Safety System across a number of Hospital campus’ including Leverndale and Dykebar which utilised existing network infrastructures.

NHSGGC has chosen to publish a voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice on PCS. In accordance with: ‘The Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015, SSI 2015/446 1 91(7)(a)’,in line with the practices of: Fairness; Openness and Transparency. A VEAT is the best legal procurement route to take because the disruption that would be a result of installing a new system would be significant and would have wide reaching consequences impacting: Staff; Patients and Services.
The contract will be for an initial 4 year period with the option to extend for a further 1x12 months.
