Abstract

As part of an updated security strategy, NHSGGC installed a future-proof solution for their Staff Attack systems. NHSGG&C developed an advanced security system that would improve cross-site accessibility and provide a safer working environment for staff members. Offering a greater degree of reassurance for employees working late hours was of primary importance to the project, however, devices were to remain discreet for the comfort of patients within the mental health facility. King Communications & Security Ltd provided an integrated Guardian Staff Safety System across a number of Hospital campus’ including Leverndale and Dykebar which utilised existing network infrastructures.

Consequently, the staff safety/attack alarm system is a service which is already in place and is a closed protocol system. To change this system would cause a significant amount of disruption to NHSGGC Staff and Patients. Therefore the best course of action to ensure compliance with procurement regulations, and ensure the continued maintenance of these systems, would be publishing a voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice on PCS.
