Abstract

The project involves the refurbishment of the existing building at Southmead hospital BCRM (Bristol Centre of Reproductive medicine) to accommodate W&C Gynae outpatients and NMSK-prosthetics department.

The existing building was intended for use by the BCRM with current fit out features of procedure rooms, stores, staff rooms, offices, showers/WC and laboratories. Most of these areas will have a light touch refurbishment and make good repair works to accommodate Gynae outpatients. Only a small part of the existing building (Laboratories side) will see small internal reconfiguration works in order to relocate NMSK Prosthetics. Current NMSK laboratories (KAVO) and equipment are in the Brunel and these will need to be brought over and installed in BCRM/concord house new locations.

Existing services, existing drainage systems, electricity supply and other services have been investigated and will need to be amended or upgraded as required to meet current HTM requirements.
