Abstract

To help support the NHS, DHSC put in place a National Fit Testing Team for England to support NHS

Trusts access fit testing, so their staff can be fit tested to the wide range of masks now available. The

team currently consists of a part time Project Director, 5 Area Managers, 3 Admin Assistants to manage

contacts with the Trusts and up to 175 Fit Testers.

The initial contract was put in place at the height of the pandemic under regulation 32 and ran until 30th

September 2021. The contract was then reprocured under open tender, novated from DHSC to The

Authority (Supply Chain Coordination Limited) 31/03/2022 and subsequently was extended to

31/03/2023.

SCCL now wishes to put in place a contract for a National Fit Testing Service to run from 1st April 2023

onwards. The Authority is running this open 30-day procurement process to select a vendor to provide

this.

The contract period is expected to be from 1st April 2023–31 December 2023 with a possible extension

of up to 6 months. The successful organisation will therefore be required to have mobilised their solution

by 1st April 2023. The option to extend for up to a further 6 months will be in multiples of 3-month

increments.
