Description of the goods or services required
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is part of UK government's commitment to level up all parts of the UK by delivering on each of the levelling up objectives: Boost productivity, pay, jobs and living standards by growing the private sector, especially in those places where they are lagging.
Horticulture Wales (North East) is a successful collaborative project that is SPF funded in Denbighshire and Flintshire and is based at WU Northop Campus. It promotes sustainable, niche growing opportunities and collaborative approaches with cluster members across the region. The team will continue to actively collaborate with academic experts within the university, the region and beyond.
Wrexham University are seeking to appoint a consultancy partner to undertake a final evaluation of Horticulture Wales (North East) Project.
We expect evaluation of the project to build on the evaluations previously undertaken as part of the original Hort Wales project. Although budget for evaluation is limited it is expected that it will take a two-phased approach to provide a formative and summative assessment of delivery – baseline (before end of March 2024) and final outcome evaluation (by 20 December 2024).
We have allocated a budget of £9,000 including VAT for this exercise.
During the last 3 months of the project (mid October 2024 – mid December2024), the focus will shift towards documenting the project. Key data will have been captured during the operation phase from all aspects of the project.
The scope of the evaluation is expected to include:
Inception Phase:
Inception Meeting
Inception Notes
Scoping Stage
Review of project data and documentation
Scoping Interviews
Development of an Evaluation Framework and research instruments
Final Evaluation Stage
Qualitative interviews with Horticulture Wales (North East) delivery team
Qualitative interviews with Horticulture Wales (North East) partners
Online survey of project beneficiaries
Review of monitoring data
Final Evaluation Report
Presentation of findings
Output / Objectives
The Consultant will produce a final report in December 2024 highlighting their findings.
