The aim of the Community Infection Prevention Control (CIPC) Service is to protect the health of the Liverpool population through the reduction of infection spread within key community settings; driving up standards in IPC practice; the reduction of health and care-associated infections; the reduction of the need for antimicrobials; outbreak preparedness and prevention; and incident and outbreak response. The aim will be delivered through provision of a comprehensive, high-quality evidence-based infection control service in the community which protects the public and has a people-centred approach.
