Description of the goods or services required

Internal alterations, structural modifications, and refurbishment works to the MEMO Art Centre in Barry. The project includes the reconfiguration of internal spaces, upgrades to main entrances and circulation areas, installation of new structural elements, improvements to fire safety and acoustic performance, and the modernisation of facilities across various public-facing and back-of-house areas. The works also include associated Mechanical and Electrical upgrades to suit the revised layouts and compliance requirements.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The contract comprises internal alterations, structural modifications, refurbishment works, and associated M&E upgrades across the MEMO Art Centre. Works include reconfiguration of internal spaces, upgrades to entrances and circulation areas, installation of new structural elements, improvements to fire safety and acoustic performance, internal finishes, new café/servery and toilet layouts, and general modernisation of facilities. The Principal Contractor will be responsible for delivering all works in accordance with the issued design information and coordinating all trades on site. Refer to drawings and info in Appendix B.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Bidder must be able to demonstrate:

- Experience of successfully delivering at least two similar refurbishment or alteration projects within the last 5 years

- SSIP-accredited certification (e.g. CHAS, SMAS, etc.)

- Competent H&S Lead

- Satisfactory financial posistion appropriate to the scale of the project

- Confirmation of appropriate levels of insurance - as set out in the contract.

- Ensure that commerical and qualitive responses are included in tender submission

- Ability to act as Principal Contractor under CDM 2015

- Evidence of qualified site management Staff (e.g. SMSTS management, CSCS for operatives)

- Ability to manage live-builidng constraints and implement site logistics suited to community or arts venues.

- A Quality Management system (formal accreditation such as ISO 9001 or equivalent internal system)

- An environmental policy (preferably ISO 14001 or equivalent)

- Ability to comply with waste and recycling requirements
