Abstract

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board intends to enter into a supply of goods and services with an existing supplier. The Vocera system has been fully integrated into the Health Boards newest Hospitals, Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr. The Health Board in the last financial year has made significant investment in Wifi in both RGH and NHH, this enables the Health Board to extend the Vocera Services to both these sites. Specific Service areas within RGH and NHH have identified departments and wards which would benefit from using the Vocera system to improve patient flow. Phase one Pilot scheme was successfully implemented and further funding has been made available to continue onto both medical and surgical areas specifically for both sites. There is currently no other system\service that provides hands free, clinical grade, wearable voice media. No prior contract notice has been issued and a single tender has been invited and received from Vocera Communications. The Health Board will be applying a 10 day standstill period to allow suppliers in the marketplace an opportunity to appeal if they believe they have the capability to meet the Health Boards unique requirements.
