Abstract

Redesigned wheelchair pathway for Somerset that alters the traditional model of Service delivery to wheelchair users in Somerset. Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) sought to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced service provider as the lead provider in the development and delivery of the whole pathway, with specific remit for delivering the specialist wheelchair and seating assessments and provision of equipment logistics elements of the Wheelchair Pathway within Somerset.

The contracted is awarded for an initial period of 5 years, with the option to extend for a further 2 periods of 12 months.

Lodging of appeals

NHS Somerset CCG has allowed a minimum 10 calendar day standstill period from the point information on the award of the contract was communicated to tenderers. This period was a mandatory ‘standstill’ period which commenced on 5.1.2015 and concluded at midnight on 15.1.2015.

Should additional information be required it should be requested of the addressee in section VI.3.1. Aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by breach of the procurement rules have the right to take action in the High Court (England and Wales). Any such action is subject to strict time limits and must be brought in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 as amended by the Public Contracts (Amendment) Regulations 2009 and the Public Procurement (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2011.
