Construction of New Steel Framed buildings for additional cow housing and new dairy

Supply and Fit 2 x New Steel Framed Buildings to agricultural Class 2 BS5502 – Euro-codes to EN1090 EX2

Building 1: - Supplied to fit across lower gables of existing farm shed with an additional 60ft.

144ft long x 32ft 10” (10m) wide

8 bays Apex style - 5 no. 20ft, 2 no. 14ft and 1 no. 16ft all set at 12 ft high.

STEELWORK

Supply and fit a new steel structure (178x102x19kg) rafter bolted to new (203x133x25kg) steel stanchions. All new steelwork to be hot dipped galvanised.

Wind bracings to roof in 76mm tube section – 4 no.

Wind bracings to side in 76mm tube section – 4 no.

End posts in 178x102x19kg – 1 no. per end – 2 in total

SHEETING

Supply and fit Roof in fibre cement natural grey. 1 no. roof-light 9’ long per bay on roof, per side fixed to 7”x3” treated timber on smaller bays and 9”x3” on 20ft bays.

Cladding – front and rear gables enough to cover over a 5ft panel and 1 no. side 144ftx6ft down all in vent air metal. Less 2 no. full bays for doorways.

ROOFLIGHTS

1 no. per bay 8oz safety light to comply with current H & S Regs

FLASHINGS

Supply and fit barges for roof in fibre cement.

RAINWATER GOODS

170mm PVC Guttering with 2 no. outlet and 110mm PVC pipe per side

TIMBER

Supply 7” x 3” treated timber for roof only, cladding and gabble rails should be included at 4”x3” for 15ft bays and 6”x3” for 20ft bays.

FOUNDATIONS

Excavate holes and supply concrete to main stanchions and end posts and place bolts in concrete. Foundation cost should not include clearing or levelling of site.

Building 2:

165ft long x 59ft (18m) wide

11 bays Apex style - 11 no. 15ft all set at 12 ft high to eaves.

STEELWORK

Supply and fit a new steel structure (254x146x31kg) rafter bolted to new (305x165x40kg) steel stanchions. All new steelwork to be hot dipped galvanised.

Wind bracings to roof in 76mm tube section – 8 no.

Wind bracings to side in 76mm tube section – 4 no.

End posts in 203x133x25kg – 2 no. per end – 4 in total

SHEETING

Supply and fit Roof in fibre cement natural grey. 1 no. roof-light 9’ long per bay on roof, per side fixed to 7”x3” treated timber.

Cladding – front and rear gables x 5ft clad and 1 no. side 165ftx7ft 6” down all in box profile vent air to cover 5ft high panel pre stressed.

Minimum standards and qualification required

Tenders are invited only on the basis of the supplier being able to provide project delivery within a 6 month period from contract award.

Liquidated Damages - £2,000 per week or part thereof

Rectification Period - 6 Months

Retention Percentage - 3%

Contractor’s Insurance Cover - £2,000,000

Insurance Liability of Employer - £5,000,000
