II.1.4) Short description
Moyle Interconnector Limited (‘Moyle’), a subsidiary of Mutual Energy Limited, owns and operates the Moyle Interconnector, a HVDC link between the electricity transmission systems in Northern Ireland and Scotland. Moyle has appointed a maintenance contractor who will ensure that the Interconnector Converter Stations and associated equipment will continue to meet high availability performance targets on a cost effective basis. The contractor will be responsible for responding to and repairing faults associated with the interconnector control systems and HV AC and DC plant, equipment and protection systems. The contractor will also be responsible for possessing and maintaining safety authorisations to carry out switching and work in accordance with the Northern Ireland Electricity safety rules. An important element of the service to be provided by the contractor will be response to faults involving the Interconnector Control Systems and the maintenance and development of same.
