Abstract

Dorset Council currently commissions a range of services to promote independent living and is now seeking a Development Partner to work with the Council on the development, provision and management of a Technology Enabled Care Service (TEC) (whole of life). The contract will include the provision of the following service elements:

Service Element 1: ‘Technology First’ cultural change including a TEC Learning and Development programme and benefits realisation and tracking methodology;

Service Element 2: innovation and development of technology and/or digital services for Dorset Council residents with Dorset Council. The Development Partner will develop the self-funder market and include flexibility for new projects and technology which may arise throughout the life of the contract;

Service Element 3: assessment, installation, monitoring, maintenance and delivery/collection of TEC equipment. This service will include a careline provider and where needed, a responder of last resort.

The total budget for the service is 3 555 230 GBP over the whole 5-year contract. However to enable the Council to maximise the opportunities from this service and accommodate future growth there may be an additional 1 000 000 GBP of funding over the 5 years, depending on the Council's budget position.
