Abstract

DCC have been successful in securing a grant from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and Welsh Government to deliver PestSmart. PestSmart is a pan Wales initiative working with a range of stakeholders encourages people to consider ‘smarter’ ways of weed, pest and disease control that do not impact on people, water or wildlife. A requirement exists with our project plan to complete a gap analysis study to understand the policy landscape within Wales relating to pesticides, understand potential challenges and suggest better ways of working. DCC will be able to provide data, feedback on PestSmart activities to date and introductions to key contacts to the successfully appointed contractor as required.
