Abstract

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking to employ a Quantity Surveyor (QS) to be part of a Design Team to redevelop the existing Wrexham Museum to incorporate a Football Museum for Wales. The QS will form part of a Design Team that will be responsible for creating an interpretive plan and design proposals for the museum redevelopment. The Design Team will also consist of a Museum Designer and Architect who will be appointed via a separate procurement exercise. The project will follow the traditional RIBA lifecycle with the Design Team required to produce plans and designs for Wrexham Museum that incorporates a new Football Museum for Wales. The contract is for two phases of work - the Development Phase and Delivery Phase. The Development Phase will run from RIBA 1 up to and including RIBA 3 with the Delivery Phase taking the project from RIBA 4 to RIBA stage 7. The project will progress onto the Delivery Phase if successful in securing funding from grant applications and project partners. If unsuccessful the contract will terminate upon completion of the Development Phase (at the end of RIBA 3), circa November 2021 The QS should have experience of working with museums and listed buildings. The successful QS will be required to work collaboratively with other members of the Design Team and Project Steering Group to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
