Abstract

Summary The North Wales Wildlife Trust wishes to appoint a contractor to further develop ‘Ymledwyr Ecosystem Invaders’ campaign materials as part of the Wales Resilient Ecological Network (WaREN II) project. This campaign will raise awareness of invasive non-native species (invasive species) and biosecurity in Wales. Description of the goods or services required Invasive species are one of the main drivers of biodiversity decline globally. The environmental, economic, and social impact of invasive species in Wales will continue to grow unless they are tackled with a sustainable and joined-up approach. WaREN II aims to increase public engagement and raise awareness of invasive species through effective science communication. There is more information on our Ecosystem Invaders campaign here: https://www.northwaleswildlifetrust.org.uk/ecosystem-invaders It will raise awareness of: 1. Invasive species issues amongst target audiences in Wales, using examples which are local or relevant to each audience, in order to improve understanding and engagement with the issue. 2. Actions that audiences can take to help tackle invasive species, in order to improve uptake of good practice (e.g. biosecurity). 3. The WaREN II project, in order to help engage relevant organisations in supporting the project and our Charter. Our campaign will relaunch during Invasive Species Week (May 15th – 21st) and then be delivered by project staff and partners across Wales with a number of local and national events. The contractor will be required to deliver the following bilingual material for the campaign: - Update bilingual campaign materials (including print and digital). - Conduct a pre- and post-campaign survey of awareness. - Translate some campaign material into a third language (language to be determined) - Print materials for events and engagement tools (e.g. playing cards). Campaign materials need to be finalised and ready for launch by early May. Please provide evidence within your proposal of: 1. Thorough understanding the threat posed by invasive species in Wales and awareness of relevant target audiences and key stakeholders. 2. Knowledge of existing campaigns and how they link to our ‘Ymledwyr Ecosystem Invaders’ campaign. 3. Key messages (e.g. prevention and biosecurity) which are important for tackling invasive species. 4. Experience and delivery of bilingual campaign materials (including digital) in Wales. Importantly, the contractor should be able to demonstrate how the materials will deliver the aim of the campaign (see above).

Summary

The North Wales Wildlife Trust wishes to appoint a contractor to further develop ‘Ymledwyr Ecosystem Invaders’ campaign materials as part of the Wales Resilient Ecological Network (WaREN II) project. This campaign will raise awareness of invasive non-native species (invasive species) and biosecurity in Wales.

Description of the goods or services required

Invasive species are one of the main drivers of biodiversity decline globally. The environmental, economic, and social impact of invasive species in Wales will continue to grow unless they are tackled with a sustainable and joined-up approach.

WaREN II aims to increase public engagement and raise awareness of invasive species through effective science communication. There is more information on our Ecosystem Invaders campaign here: https://www.northwaleswildlifetrust.org.uk/ecosystem-invaders

It will raise awareness of:

The contractor will be required to deliver the following bilingual material for the campaign:

- Update bilingual campaign materials (including print and digital).

- Conduct a pre- and post-campaign survey of awareness.

- Translate some campaign material into a third language (language to be determined)

- Print materials for events and engagement tools (e.g. playing cards).

Campaign materials need to be finalised and ready for launch by early May.

Please provide evidence within your proposal of:
